A few days ago I changed the title tag on our website from Tomlinson Zisko - Page 1 to Tomlinson Zisko - A Leading Silicon Valley Law Firm.
We went from basically being nowhere in a google search of Silicon Valley Law Firm to being first.
Now I just need to figure out why Google indexed the site using our old tzmm.com domain name (which we still own and still points to our site) vs the tzllp.com domain.
Also trying to increase the standing of the NCIAC site, which is the site of an international arbitration club that is run by one of our attorneys who is pretty well known for his arbitration practice.
Noticed that my brother also blogged about our search optimization efforts. Cool.
Never thought that I would be involved in marketing when I started down my career path in IT.
Alex, I have some SEO tips (esp. for people who blog) at http://www.tomrafteryit.net/category/search-engine-optimisation/
Making sure your website validates using the w3c validator (see http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.tzllp.com/) will do a lot for your SEO. As will developing a linkage strategy (Google is currently reporting 6 links to your site! see http://www.google.ie/search?as_lq=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tzllp.com%2F&btnG=Search).
Feel free to drop me a mail if you have any questions or want to know more,
Cheers,
Tom
