Unexplained Errors

I just love it when you get one of those "The Service terminated unexpectedly" errors in the event log on Windows server.

Had that happen Saturday morning in the whee hours to the BackupExec Agent on my backend Exchange server, so nothing on that server was backed up Saturday or Sunday night and the mailboxes were missed on Friday.

Hope it doesn't happen again tonight, or I will be scratching my head trying to figure out wtf is going on.

Mailbox backups are evil!!!

If you are running a mailbox backup I hope that you are also running a full backup either right before or right afterwards.

The ability to retrieve an individual mail item or mailbox for a user without requiring a special "backup" Exchange Server is evil?

And yes, of course I'm also backing up the mailstore.
